It’s your time to write.

You’ve got something to say.

You’ve put off writing for one of many good reasons: family, career, school. But now it’s time to find your voice, to indulge your love of literature. And so you’re here, ready to take a journey with an experienced guide, to focus on your work, to begin the adventure of expression and communication only writing and reading can offer.

I’m here for you.

Narratives are powerful, and the world needs them. The world needs yours, whether it takes its form in fiction, memoir, creative non-fiction or poetry. I consider it a privilege to be able to walk by your side, nurture your work and your talent, and challenge you to reach beyond what you think you can do on the page. One of the joys of writing and teaching writing is discovery; discovery of ideas and emotions hidden beneath the veil of our every-day lives, discovery of innovation in language and form, and discovery of master works that instruct and inspire.

Kind Words

Erin is a wonderful teacher. She brings warmth, intellect and a gift for writing into the classroom and leaves her students enthused, inspired and equipped with practical knowledge. Her approach to stepping through a craft issue, applying it to a published work and thinking about it in the context of one’s own work makes for a particularly rich learning experience.

If you're looking for a mixed-format class that covers craft, analysis and workshop, then Streamline Writing Classes [Long format] is an excellent option. Discussions about the reference text proved rich and informative, while writing sessions helped generate new work and the workshop - built on Liz Lerman's Critical Response Process - created space for constructive and illuminating feedback that suited both the work and the needs of the writer. Erin was an empathetic and engaged instructor who demonstrated genuine care for her students and implication in building a community in her classroom through which to support her students.

Erin Osborne is the rare teacher who is able to present complex and transformative craft insights in a manner that is highly engaging, accessible, and immediately applicable. Her editorial instincts and partnership on revisions have been invaluable to me in the development of all of the pieces on which she has provided feedback. Most importantly, her humor and humility create a learning environment that is supportive, welcoming, and conducive to growth. I highly recommend her courses.

I've taken several writing courses, but Streamline is the most holistic. At Streamline you are helped to analyse writing, create writing, but also, to develop a personal writing practice which will benefit you long after the sessions have ended. Overall, Streamline was a great experience.

Erin’s teaching style is warm, open, inquisitive, and completely down-to-Earth. With Erin you feel safe to ask questions and explore. Erin is very approachable, and while her style is laid back, she takes her work seriously and her craft expertise runs deep. She’s not afraid to deliver some “tough love” feedback, but it is always couched in respect for intention and a fundamental understanding of good storytelling and sound prose.

-Shel Senai, Writer and Assistant Fiction Editor, Raleigh Review

The course I took with Streamline Writing Classes has been the best one I've ever been in. Erin is extremely knowledgeable, and I feel like I was able to elevate my writing because of her insights and the way she structures workshop time. The things I learned have made me a more skilled and confident writer. I wish I could take this course again and again.
